Ottawa County Materials Management Planning Committee:
The Board voted to appoint Matt Rosser to fill one (1) Representative of Solid Waste Facility (Landfill) vacancy beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2029.
The Board voted to appoint Russ Boersma to fill one (1) Representative of Hauler vacancy beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2029.
The Board voted to appoint Tom Mahoney to fill one (1) Materials Recovery Facility vacancy beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2029.
The Board voted to appoint Dan Tietema to fill one (1) Representative of Compost Facility/Aerobic Digester vacancy beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2029.
The Board voted to appoint Kari Bliss to fill one (1) Representative of Waste Diversion, reuse, or deduction facility operator vacancy beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2029.

The Board voted to appoint Nick Carlson to fill one (1) Business that generates managed material vacancy beginning August 1, 2024 and ending July 31, 2029.

Ottawa County Community Action Agency Advisory Board: The Board voted to approve Kenneth Styles to fill one (1) Private Sector vacancy beginning May 15, 2024 and ending December 31, 2024.
Operating Budget Policy (Second Reading): The Board voted to approve the revised Operating Budget Policy.
I voted no on the Operating Budget Policy after my amendment to reduce the not to exceed amount of 3% to 1.5% failed. Historically, we have had Contingency Funds in the range of a half million to one million dollars, and the 3% not to exceed would allow a Contingency fund of well over $3M. I do not feel we need a Contingency Fund of that amount and don’t believe we should have a policy that allows it.
Fund Balance Policy (Second Reading): The Board voted to approve the revised Fund Balance Policy.
