Post-Execution Ratification of Contracts: The Board ratified all contracts for the period of December 1, 2023 to December 21, 2023.
Department of Strategic Impact 2023 Annual Report: The Board received for information the 58th District Court 2023 Annual Report.

County Policies Policy: The Board approved the first reading of the revised County Policies Policy for review and comment.
FY2024 Agreement for MSU Extension Services: The Board approved the FY2024 Agreement for Extension Services between Ottawa County and MSU Extension at a cost of $272,572.00.
Workers Compensation Contract Renewal: The Board approved the contract renewal for services provided by Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. for a period of 3 years and total contract cost of $77,974.00.
Budget Software: The Board approved the contract with OpenGov for Ottawa County Budget Software services.
Demolition Services Amendment: The Board voted to approve and authorize the Board Chair/Clerk/Register to sign a First Amendment to Demotion Services Contract.
MACC Adjustment: The Board voted to remove Commissioner Wenzel from MACC and replace her with Commissioner Cosby.
I made a motion to replace Commisisoner Wenzel with Commissioner Bonnema because I believe Commissioner Bonnema would make a great representative, in addition to the fact that Commissioner Cosby already has a high number of Committee and Commission assignments. That motion unfortunately failed.
CMH Appointment: The voted to appoint Commissioner Wenzel to the Community Mental Health Board to fill a vacancy.
I made a motion to send this item to Talent and Recruitment, so that that Committee could fill the opening with a member of the public rather than another Commissioner. That motion unfortunately failed.
Approve Commissioner Bonnema’s Request for Outside Counsel: The Board approved the hiring of outside legal counsel (Michael Homier) for Commissioner Bonnema for the limited purpose of representing him in the upcoming evidentiary hearing currently scheduled on January 19, 2024, in the Adeline Hambley v. Ottawa County case.
I voted to approve because I believe that all Commisioners should have Counsel that they believe will best represent them in any legal situations related to our County duties.
Formation of Special Commitee in re Kimball v Ottawa County: The Board voted to form a Special Committee to partipate in litigation discussions regarding Kimball v Ottawa County, composed of the forllowing three members: Koe Moss, Sylvia Rhodea, and Gretchen Cosby.
