Post-Execution Ratification of Contracts: The Board voted to ratify all contracts currently pending on the post-execution ratification list.

Campus Partners 1 Bond Resolution: The Board voted to adopt the Resolution approving the issuance of bonds to finance a project for Campus Partners 1.

Summary:

The IRS Code permits a county in one location to issue tax-exempt bonds for projects in another county, as long as the host county of the project approves. Capital Partners in Lansing is proposing to undertake over $28 million of building improvements to two charter schools in the Holland area and has arranged for La Paz County in Arizona to bond for the project and, therefore, is asking for the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners' approval. I voted yes because the proposal, while not yet agreed to by the two Holland-area charters, it would leave them the option of participating or not in the proposal.
